Hello everyone! This will be my first review, the Zombie Strike Longshot CS-12. Boy is that a mouthful of a name. I picked this blaster up at my local Target store for $34.99. The blaster is packaged with an orange repaint of the old Longshot scope, a 12-dart Elite clip, and 12 green Zombie Strike darts. I was very intrigued at the fact that it didn't come with a front gun, or even a bipod for that matter.
The blaster is very nice to hold, and has an extendable stock. However I found that upon putting a bit of pressure on the stock, it is very easy to collapse. The 12-dart clip is still transparent on the right side despite numerous complains from Nerfers simply because 90% of the population is right handed. This makes it so your enemy can see your dart count, but you cannot. This is exactly the opposite of Hasbro's intended purpose. The orange scope is very nice aesthetically, but serves no real purpose accuracy-wise. The blaster has an N-Strike barrel attachment point at the front. The priming method is the same as the old Longshot, and is still just as slow.
Upon unscrewing and investigating the blaster's internals, they appear to be exactly the same as the old Longshot, which means we still have a gigantic plunger tube and lots of workable space in the shell. With the same internals comes the same range, and this blaster is no different. The blaster shoots around 30-35 feet flat with the included darts.
So, is this blaster worth the $34.99 you'll pay for it? Some might say yes, but I would say no. The low performance of the blaster is a tradeoff for the sweet aesthetics on the blaster. The new cyan and gray paintjob is very nice and quite stylish. So, although you receive an awesome-looking blaster and a tacticool scope, the poor performance and low rate-of-fire makes this blaster unusable at any war. However, for people who just want to have fun and goof around, this may be the blaster for you.
